This paper brings aspects of gender and media on the reading of two trendy dramas set in Thailand and Taiwan: “MIA 2018” (2018) and “The Fierce Wife” (2010). Thai drama “MIA 2018” (2018) was a remake of the Taiwanese drama “The Fierce Wife” (2010). We took two dramas as the research subject, try to explore the representation and the social culture reflected in the media. The result shows that in Taiwan and Thailand have the same and the different understandings of gender awareness and gender issues. In terms of the image of the wife, in the two versions, the wife's attitude towards marriage and divorce is different: the Thai version presents a more independent and modern woman image; the image of the husband represents typical male images of Taiwan and Thailand respectively; in terms of the image of the other woman, the Taiwanese version presents an image of lack of love, and the Thai version appears more aggressive. About the social attitude, in terms of male affair, Taiwanese society shows more serious negative perceptions and boycott than Thai society. In terms of the other woman, Taiwanese and Thai societies are both unacceptable.
